Polestar reveals Formula 2030 concept and hints at what’s next for its future EVs

Swedish electric brand Polestar has just unveiled a new concept car called Formula 2030, which, as the name suggests, previews the brand’s vision for the next decade.
It’s unclear whether this concept will ever make it to production.
However, what we do know is that some of the design features you see here will also be included in future models.
And there’s something else we can be excited about.
Evolution over revolution
The Formula 2030 concept marks the first project created from scratch under the direction of Philipp Römers, the brand’s new Head of Design.
Rather than abandoning the brand’s existing design language, the concept adds a few cool signature features.
“Our design is already so strong, it was obvious we needed an evolution, not revolution, of what came before,” Philipp Römers said.
The first thing that stands out is the new front end, which comes with a refined version of the manufacturer’s dual ‘blade’ headlights.
We also noticed some prominent hood bulges, which were presumably only added for drama and not for technical needs considering the car is electric, and a much wider and lower stance
A new Polestar is coming
In 2017, Chinese conglomerate Geely decided to bring the old Polestar brand back to life.
Originally reserved for high-performance Volvo cars, Polestar became a standalone EV brand, and some of its cars are pretty impressive.
At the time of writing, there are four models in production: simply called 2, 3, 4, and 5.
The design principles debuted on the Formula 2030 concept will eventually transition to all those models, starting with the upcoming Polestar 2, scheduled to launch around 2027.
But, crucially, these features will also be included in the new Polestar 6 and 7.
Slated as a compact crossover/SUV, the 7 is planned for production in Europe, and it’s supposed to debut around 2028.
As for the 6, that’s a sports car that was supposed to debut this year.
With a bit of luck, it’ll be available soon.
