Ralph Lauren’s Ferrari F50 has just made some seriously impressive history.
It was previously announced that the designer’s Ferrari F50 would be auctioned at Monterey Car Week.
What sets Ralph Lauren’s Ferrari F50 apart is that it is just one-of-two US-spec, bright-yellow examples.
And its sale has officially made it the most expensive one ever sold.

Ralph Lauren’s Ferrari F50 makes brand history
Ralph Lauren’s Ferrari F50 served as one of the highlights of Monterey Car Week this year.
Expectations were already high for the auction, but this one smashed them completely.
Prior to this week, the most expensive Ferrari F50 ever sold went for just over $5.5 million.
This one, however, has completely shattered the record.
By the time the hammer dropped, it had reached a selling price of $9.245 million.
If our math is right, that makes it almost double the previous record price.

So why did this supercar go for so much more – and what makes it so special?
For one thing, the history of its former owner already makes it a must-have piece.
Being owned by a celebrity icon such as Ralph Lauren massively boosts the supercar’s already stellar pedigree.
And this particular example is one of just two that you will ever find in the US
That is because this F50 is just one of just two US-spec cars that left Italy in Giallo Modena, that eye-catching bright yellow finish.
This one-of-two supercar isn’t just a novelty
Ordered new by Ralph Lauren in 1995, this F50 sat for eight years in his private collection.
It sat alongside such proper iconic cars, such as the Ferrari 250 GTO and the McLaren F1.
Even though it has a truly legendary pedigree, this supercar is more than just its name.
For one thing, it’s got just 4,900 original miles on the odometer.
It was also given a complete overhaul back in 2024.

This means that all sensitive parts – fuel tanks, tires, brakes – were given all the TLC they required.
It has also been certified Ferrari Classiche since 2009, guaranteeing authenticity down to the smallest detail.
Monterey Car Week was witness to some truly incredible cars finding new owners.
But Ralph Lauren’s Ferrari F50 might just have been one of the most incredible cars of them all.
