If you hear the name Land Rover Range Rover Kensington, you may assume it’s as British as the King himself—but it’s actually a custom-made build from the US.

While the name may conjure up images of afternoon tea and royal galas – California-based tuning company Vorsteiner actually created the bespoke vehicle.

The base model is a Land Rover Range Rover that has been given a boost with some carbon fiber elements and a new set of wheels. 

While it might have no connection to the British royals, it certainly looks fit for a king.

Range Rovers have a long royal-connection

When it came to cars, the late Queen Elizabeth II had an impressive fleet, which included a classic Rolls-Royce and a couple of Bentleys. 

However, the late monarch appeared to favor a British-made Range Rover most of all.

Last year, Indian billionaire Yohan Poonawalla snapped up a Loire blue 2016 Range Rover, complete with ivory leather interior, that had belonged to the monarch. 

As the car was made for royal use, it was kitted out with modified features including police emergency lighting, adapted fixed steps, and grab handles. 

With the Kensington name having such a long history with Range Rover, it’s no surprise that Vorsteiner chose it as the name for its custom-built design.

In an image shared online, the Range Rover has been given eye-catching gold and black paintwork while some carbon fiber elements have been added to change the appearance of the vehicle.

Vorsteiner hasn’t shared many details about the custom build, but its website lists the Kensington carbon fiber aero kit as including front upper and middle grilles, a front spoiler, side vents and side skirts, a rear diffuser, and a roof spoiler.

The new elements completely transform the vehicle giving it a fresh new look.

The vehicle also gets a new set of Vorsteiner forged V-LX 101 wheels. 

Another example of the a finished Range Rover L460 Kensington shows finished in a glossy and imposing all-black paint job that looks slightly less regal – but a whole lot meaner – than its golden counterpart.
