Remarkable old footage capturing the building of the final Concorde has been released.
The iconic aircraft was first built in 1969 as a partnership between France and the UK.
As a matter of fact, the very name ‘Concorde’ means ‘peace’ or ‘harmony’ in French.
The footage, courtesy of the BBC Archive YouTube channel, comes from 1979.
And it shows the building of the final legendary aircraft – just ten years after the first.
The supersonic aircraft program came to an end due to spiralling costs, as well as the tragic Air France tragedy in July of 2000.
