After discovering how much it would cost to have a wrecked Ferrari GTC4 Lusso repaired by an official dealer, a team of mechanics decided to give it a go themselves.

Anyone who has ever damaged their car in an accident will know that it’s never cheap getting it back on the road.

But when the car in question happens to be a Ferrari, the cost can be astronomical.

So, when the team from Aldian Performance got their hands on a wrecked Ferrari, they decided to take matters into their own hands.

How much the Ferrari would have cost to fix at an official dealership

The car had clearly been in a pretty bad crash and was in a sorry state when it was sent off to an official Ferrari dealership in Germany.

The dealership said a repair job for the Ferrari GTC4 Lusso would cost more than $92,000.

But with the insurance refusing to cover the hefty cost of a repair from the official dealership, the guys from Aldian Performance got to work.

As you might have guessed, repairing a bashed-up high-end Ferrari GTC4 Lusso is no mean feat.

They had to completely disassemble the rear section, after which they realized that none of the bent and battered metalwork could be straightened.

Several of the car’s panels were also beyond repair, and the team had to order in a bunch of new parts and pieces, all of which had to be repainted and prepared before they could be fitted.

They also made and fitted some new carbon fiber elements to the exterior, including building a brand-new spoiler.

Alongside that, they also tore down and rebuilt the Ferrari’s interior, adding in some ‘budget-friendly sound insulation’.

The restoration was a real labor of love for the team, and by the end of their weeks of hard work the Ferrari was looking top-notch once again.

They’re not the first to take matters into their own hands

The guys from Aldian Performance aren’t the only ones who have decided to give a Ferrari a DIY restoration.

Over in the UK, a mechanic spent six months rebuilding and repairing a F340 that had been damaged in a crash and then abandoned for years.

He managed to carry out all the work by himself and for a lot less than you might expect.

Once the work was complete, he handed the keys to the car over to his dad, leaving him absolutely speechless.
