The Audi F1 team has finally revealed its full name, with global fintech company Revolut coming on board as a title sponsor.
Audi is taking over the Sauber team from 2026 onwards, as it becomes the factory team for the German car manufacturer.
Entering the sport as it introduces new car and engine rules, the full team name is Audi Revolut F1 Team, as the fintech company is the primary sponsor.
The full team launch will come in Berlin in late January 2026.

Audi F1 joins Formula 1 with new 2026 rules
The new car and engine rules introduced for 2026 enticed Audi to enter the sport with its own team.
It has never raced in F1 officially, with its predecessor, Auto Union, the only other related entrant.
This was from 1935 to 1939, when the F1 world championship didn’t exist, and it was simply Grand Prix racing.
The manufacturer is building its own engines for the first time in the series’ history.

Alongside Audi F1, Honda is returning as a full-factory engine operation, powering the Aston Martin team.
Cadillac also enters the series in 2026, albeit with customer Ferrari engines until 2029 at the earliest.
After that, it will produce its own powertrains.
Audi enters the sport with Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto as its first F1 drivers.
The pair also drove for Sauber in 2025 and were hired to spearhead Audi’s entry to the sport.
What is changing in F1 for 2026?
The rule changes for 2026 are some of the biggest the sport has ever seen.
The cars will be shorter and narrower, and carry less downforce than the 2022-2025 ground-effect cars.
The Drag Reduction System (DRS) is now gone, replaced with active aero at the front and rear.
There is also now a 50/50 split of electrical power and internal-combustion engine power.

Also gone is the MGU-H, one of the most expensive components of the previous turbo-hybrid engines.
A new overtake mode is also being introduced, delivering a surge of battery power at the touch of a button.
Amusingly, this was originally Manual Override Mode, or MOM for short.
F1 has since changed the name, and it will simply be called Overtake Mode in 2026.
