If you go down in the woods today, you’re sure of a big surprise. If you go down in the woods today, you’d better go in a Rivian EV with your sensors on point, as paranormal activity is revealing its disguise.

The emergence of the 360-degree sensors for the high-end EVs has been a stark advancement in the full self-driving industry.

Having a spherical scanner around your car eliminates blind spots and allows it to detect anything that may pose a hazard.

Even ghosts…

Rivian driver detects ‘spirits’ in the woods that follow him home

Tesla was the first to bring forth the 360-degree cameras, giving it the edge in the EV industry and laying the foundations for every other carmaker to follow.

When it first launched, people found it fascinating to see the world digitised on the screen.

But others found that the sensors were picking up some wild anomalies in places like a cemetery.

Rivian intentionally made its own software platform, much like Tesla, to snub Apple CarPlay, but it looks like it may be haunted.

One man has now found that his Rivian EV is doing the same, as he recorded his truck’s camera detecting life forms that weren’t visible.

And, unless it was the seven Harry Potters all sharing his dad’s invisibility cloak, then it could only mean one thing: ghosts.

Taking to TikTok, Dominic Armand (@dominicarmand) shared a video of his Rivian car detecting up to four life forms swarming his car, where none could be seen in the woods.

“Just going through the dark woods and everything, right? It’s about to be sunset. Spooky thing, though. My truck is saying there are people around me,” he said

But they didn’t stop in the woods.

In a follow-up upload on his channel, the user revealed that the ‘spirits are multiplying’ after riding shotgun back to his house.

“They’re getting brave, they’re getting in the car with me,” he added.

Many theorists claimed it was trees and other objects that were clouding the sensor’s judgment, but the follow-up shows that the woods can’t be interfering, and it must be something more spectral.

Can EVs actually detect paranormal activity?

This isn’t the first time that sensors have picked up what appears to be ghosts, but Tesla previously revealed that there are many objects that can skew the sensors.

“Several factors can reduce or impair performance, causing either unnecessary, invalid, inaccurate, or missed warnings,” the Tesla handbook reads.

In this case, though, the ghosts seem to be moving around, meaning stationary objects can’t be the reason why these ghosts are appearing.

Still, if Lamborghini software is planning to read your mind soon, who’s to say that Rivian can’t serve as a medium and talk to the underworld? Anything seems possible nowadays.
