Romanian billionaire Ion Țiriac owns so many cars, he once forgot he bought a Ferrari F40.

Țiriac has one of the largest car collections in Europe, with over 400 incredible vehicles.

This probably explains – at least in part – why he forgot he owned a Ferrari F40.

But there’s another catch.

Here’s how Țiriac forgot about his Ferrari F40

The Țiriac Collection is one of the best collections this side of Hollywood.

It’s so vast that Ion Țiriac occasionally forgets about the cars he owns.

In an interview posted on the Tiriac Collection YouTube channel, the billionaire shared the story of how he managed to get his hands on two Ferrari F40s.

Only to forget about them later.

He explained that he bought a Ferrari and received a significant offer for it shortly thereafter.

This made him realize this car was even more sought after than he imagined, so he decided to buy a second one.

The thing is, Țiriac apparently keeps some of his Ferraris – including the F40 – in a garage in Munich.

So he put them there and sort of forgot about them.

Ten years later, the person taking care of the Munich garage reminded the billionaire about his abandoned Ferraris.

You can’t make this stuff up.

What’s inside his collection

Located in Otopeni, north of the capital Bucharest, the collection comprises 400+ vehicles.

As you can imagine, Mr Țiriac owns a variety of rare vintage Astons, including a 1976 Lagonda, classic Alfas such as the Montreal Coupe, and the 1957 1900C Super Sprint Coupe.

He also owns a very long list of Bentleys from the 1950s and 1960s, several Cadillac Eldorado models, and just about any Corvette model you can think of, including a 1988 Challenge Race Car.

And of course, there’s a long list of Ferraris, including the F40s he forgot about.

He also owns an F1 car.

A few years ago, the collector acquired the F1-winning 2010 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB6.
