This rough-looking 1972 Chevy Suburban has been sitting idle on a Tennessee chicken farm for years, but one garage has now dragged the Chevrolet through its doors to get a neat LT1 engine swap.

As far as abandoned cars go, this Chevy Suburban is quite a disaster.

The 1972 stretch has been sitting catching autumn leaves for years, but after one man decided to bring it inside, it was clear there was more than junk in its massive trunk.

Starting with the engine, one guy has vowed to get it back on the road.

Chevy Suburban gets restored with new LT1 Engine

Given that the height of Chevrolet was back in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s, until its major resurgence, there are tonnes of abandoned cars from the esteemed classic brand.

But the Chevy Suburban is rather unique and scarcely pops up in garages with its not-so-popular body shape and size.

Still, for some people, the Suburban is worth its weight in gold – and more, in the case of this bizarre Rolls-Royce crossover.

Over in Pleasant View Tennessee, one man is now restoring a Chevy Suburban and has opted to get its engine up and running before bothering with the body.

YouTuber This N That Garage has started work on his ‘Jolly Green Giant’ Chevy Suburban.

The 1972 Chevrolet car is significantly rusty, with broken door handles, holes in its body panels, and major hydraulics problems.

But the YouTube garage has dug out a beastly LT1 engine and prepared it for a new venture in this Chevy wagon.

The engine was no easy restoration job either.

He faced issues getting the water pumps to work and honing the cylinders, making it a bigger job than just a simple swapover.

This N That Garage hasn’t yet brought the Jolly Green Giant back to life, and a later upload on his channel goes through the process of fixing a bent cylinder in the fresh LT1 engine.

Still, the aim is to get the 1972 Chevy Suburban back up and moving, before the next steps towards being road worthy.
