One clear aviation enthusiast bought a Boeing 727 plane that had sat idle at a Texas airport for 20 years.

The huge Boeing 727 sat barren and lonely at El Paso International Airport for two decades.

But, this lonely era has come to an end for the plane as someone bought it for a complete sum of just $10,132.20

Now, thoughts are turning to the lucky aircraft’s next chapter.

Impressive planes can carry big price tags.

From private jets to commercial sky cruisers, the tin cans that hurtle through the sky at speed do not come cheap.

For example, one woman from Texas, who is the proud owner of a Piper Cherokee 180, broke down the true costs of owning a jet, and it will open your eyes.

Plus, F1 star Max Verstappen has a new $42 million private jet under his ownership, just wait until you see its impressive exterior.

But, sometimes jets are forced to stay in one place and not come out to play for a while. Which is exactly what happened to this one, left at a Texas airport.

Located at El Paso International Airport in Texas, this Boeing 727 wasn’t in very good condition.

“Used 737 aircraft not airworthy, derelict condition, repairs exceed value,” stated Gov Deals, who auctioned off the plane.

But, this jet could be about to receive a complete overhaul, or even be used for something even cooler than flying from state to state – the world is the buyer’s oyster.

It is said to have an interesting history, with a company that offered private charter flights previously owning the aircraft, but the owner sadly died.

Before that, the plane had reportedly been purchased from the U.S Marshall’s Service. This time around, it sold for just $10,132.20.

Now that the new owner has had the plane for a few months, it’s likely that they have a better idea of what they would like to do with the Boeing 727.

Who knows, it could end up as a hotel room, like this one that’s got a Boeing 737 plane with a full cockpit in it.
