Somebody recently found an actual F-16 in a storage dump in Las Vegas.

Storage dumps are usually home to all kinds of weird and wonderful things.

But they are very rarely home to abandoned fighter jets.

But this Las Vegas storage dump is – and Google Maps seems to confirm it.

Las Vegas storage dump includes…abandoned F-16?

Okay, so this might be one of the strangest and most unique stories you will see.

And it comes to us from Las Vegas – Sin City itself.

But this story isn’t to do with underground tunnels or the bright lights of Las Vegas.

Instead, the story in question comes to us…from a storage dump.

At this point, you’re probably wondering what could be so fascinating about a Las Vegas storage dump?

Well, it actually can be – and the latest find proves it.

A post in the US Army Aviation WTF Moments Facebook group has been going viral.

And it is because someone has discovered an abandoned F-16 fighter jet.

“Someone found an F-16 in a dump in Vegas. Someone make sure it doesn’t have the deception logo on it somewhere”, the post humorously says.

And what is fascinating is that Google Maps appears to confirm the F-16 is there.

“You can see it on Google Maps”, one comment says – and attaches the proof from Google Maps.

Fighter jet remains a mainstay of the skies

The General Dynamics – now Lockheed Martin – F-16 is one of the world’s best fighter aircraft.

It is one of the most well-produced, with more than 4,600 built since 1976.

Although no longer purchased by the United States Air Force, it is still being exported today.

The F-16 was first developed by General Dynamics back in 1974.

Since its introduction in 1978, it has become a mainstay of the US Air Force’s tactical airpower.

Its key features include a bubble canopy that provides pilots with improved visibility.

It also came with an advanced ejector seat system, as well as the first use of a relaxed static ability/fly-by-wire system flight control system.

This made the F-16 an extremely agile and manoeuvrable aircraft.

How would you react if you saw an abandoned fighter jet in a Las Vegas storage dump?
