When his dad went on a trip to Europe for a couple of months, this 16-year-old put thousands of miles on the beloved Lamborghini Aventador, tanking the value of the supercar in the worst-kept secret ever.

Like a kid at Christmas, this young man just couldn’t help dipping his hands into the candy jar for some sweet treats.

Only, this lad wasn’t fishing for candy canes or Hershey’s Kisses, but rather the keys to his dad’s Lambo.

Ahead of selling the supercar, the teenager took to a viral video alongside salesman George Saliba, documenting the joyrides.

Teenage man racks up 12,000 miles on his dad’s Lamborghini Aventador

The Lamborghini Aventador is one of the finest vehicles off the production line in Italy, with the flagship supercar getting special treatment from the fabled manufacturer.

This particular Lamborghini was valued at $285,000 when one man looked to sell it, boasting a limited 900 miles on the clock.

However, appearing in a video from popular New Jersey salesman George Saliba, the son revealed the stark truth of what the car had been up to while his dad was on business in Europe.

In just four months, the then-16-year-old had been hitting as high as 160mph, burning his way from Maryland to Florida every weekend with a selection of ‘friends’.

All in all, the lad revealed the odometer reads just shy of 13,000 miles now, and

“I put 13,000 miles on an Aventador. I didn’t have a license then, too. Unlicensed, uninsured, everything,” he said.

So much activity had drastically reduced the value of the Aventador, even though he claims to have kept it in ‘mint’ condition to avoid any suspicion – although one glance at the odometer and the game would be up.

The car has yet to be valued again, but you can imagine that four-month joyriding spree cost his father tens of thousands of dollars.

Recent sales on Cars and Bids have seen Aventador’s sell with similar mileage for $270,000, likely meaning that these cheeky trips to Florida have cost his dad at least $15,000 in depreciation. At least.

12,000 miles in four months leaves salesman stunned

George Saliba, a man who has seen hundreds of supercars pass through his shop, was stunned by this Lamborghini Aventador story.

Originally applauding the man for putting so few miles on the clock, he was left shocked at the total number, claiming that even he had only ever put 100 miles on an Aventador.

Considering one man struggled to use his Aventador Ultimae for 72 hours straight, you can only imagine the graft it took for the young lad to average 3,000 miles a month.

This Lamborghini model is clearly a hit with the younger audience, with some people using it blow the minds of fellow students by arriving to prom in spectacular fashion.

But for the owners, such as the 16-year-old’s dad, it’s not quite as fun watching the value tank.
