Honda and Sony have joined forces to build the all-electric Afeela Prototype, and it’s got next-level in-car entertainment.

It’s hard to think of Sony without thinking PlayStation, right?

So, when it comes to the company’s joint venture with Honda, it makes sense that the car would feature gaming in some way.

And that’s exactly what you’ll get, with the carmaker introducing PS Remote Play – allowing occupants to stream PlayStation games directly into the cabin.

PS Remote Play allows occupants to seamlessly stream Sony PlayStation games

The Afeela Prototype was unveiled at CES 2026 under the banner ‘Mobility as a Creative Entertainment Space’.

The new concept is actually the second vehicle to be announced by Sony Honda Mobility.

The company has already been working on the Afeela 1, with first deliveries set to start this year.

The Afeela 1 will be the first vehicle to launch with PS Remote Play, a brand-new feature that allows motorists to stream PlayStation games from the PS4 or PS5 as in-car entertainment.

The smart new system gives users remote access to their PS4 or PS5 console at home from inside the car using the AFEELA In-Vehicle Infotainment system.

The car will feature an integrated display and premium audio system, so when connected, it’ll pretty much be like playing your favorite games at home.

Sony Honda Mobility has confirmed that the Afeela 1 will be the first car to feature the PS Remote Play system.

But now the marque has unveiled the second of its vehicles – the Afeela Prototype 2026 SUV – and it stands to reason that it’ll also be kitted out with the new tech.

The company said it aims to achieve Level 4 autonomous driving, which means the cabin can be transformed into a ‘drive-less’ space where occupants can enjoy the entertainment on offer on the vehicle’s in-car displays.

“The introduction of PS Remote Play embodies Afeela’s vision for mobility: transforming the traveling space into a captivating and emotional one,” President and COO of Sony Honda Mobility Izumi Kawanishi said.

“Through this integration, we are elevating the customer’s entire travel experience to an unprecedented level of entertainment.

What will the Afeela 1 car cost?

Reservations for the Afeela 1 opened last January in California, with deliveries slated to start this year.

However, it looks as though there will be a bit of a longer wait for the Afeela SUV model.

Despite its name, the carmaker said the Afeela Prototype 2026 won’t go into production until 2028 at the earliest.

For now, Sony Honda Mobility hasn’t shared many details about the upcoming production model of the concept or its price.

But for some context, the Afeela 1 costs $89,900 and can easily go over the six-figure mark depending on how you spec it.

And with the newly unveiled SUV a larger model than the Afeela 1, it makes sense that it’ll cost a bit more.
