Owning a Bugatti Chiron isn’t just about spending millions on one of the fastest cars in the world, but also about surviving the sky-high bills that come afterward.
From routine maintenance that costs more than most family cars to insurance premiums that could buy you a luxury SUV every year, the Chiron is in a league of its own.
Even the tires are so specialized that they make your local mechanic’s jaw drop.
In short, driving a Chiron isn’t just a flex of speed, but a show of financial stamina.

Prepare to shell out an arm and a leg for minor things
Let’s start with tires.
A set of fresh rubber for the Chiron will set you back around $42,000, and Bugatti recommends replacing them every 18 months, whether you’ve burned rubber or not.

Of course, you can try to put some cheap Chinese wheels instead, which cost ‘only’ $3,700, but the company wouldn’t recommend it.
This is because the tires need to be specially fitted and certified in order to withstand speeds of over 260 mph.
Then there’s routine maintenance.
Oil changes for your Honda Civic might cost a couple of hundred bucks, but with the Chiron?
Expect to shell out $21,000, just like its brother, the Bugatti Veyron.
And don’t think you can delay it either.
The Buggati Chiron needs its fluids and filters swapped regularly, and the company insists on doing the work themselves, often flying in a technician from France.
Labor alone isn’t cheap, and you can expect it to cost upwards of $2,000 a day.
Be wary of the real cost of owning a Bugatti Chiron
Insurance, unsurprisingly, is another monster.
Depending on where you live and your driving record, annual coverage can run anywhere from $50,000 to $100,000.
Basically, it can cost you about the sticker price of a brand-new Tesla Cybertruck, just to keep your paperwork in order.
And god forbid you lose your key, because this Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport owner recently shared how much it costs to replace it.
Add it all up, and it’s clear: the real cost of a Bugatti Chiron isn’t the car’s $3 million-plus purchase price, but the ongoing financial avalanche that comes with it.

For the ultra-wealthy, that’s part of the fun.
For everyone else, perhaps it’s time to build our very own Chiron from scratch, given how we probably can’t afford to buy one.
