The Sultan of Brunei could lose $3,000,000,000 worth of cars and still have the world’s largest car collection.

There are some truly remarkable collections across the globe that hold claim to rare, exotic, and highly expensive hypercars.

But none come close to that owned by the Sultan of Brunei.

As it stands, he has a fleet of cars worth $5 billion, a figure that easily makes it the most valuable collection in the world.

The Sultan of Brunei and his amazing collection

Currently, the Sultan of Brunei has a collection of around 7,000 cars worth $5 billion.

Even if that dropped to a more conservative estimate of 2,400 cars, it would still be the biggest in the world.

So what exactly makes up such a large collection?

To start with, the collection is home to at least 600 Rolls-Royce vehicles including a Rolls-Royce Royale and the Rolls-Royce Majestic.

Custom specials are a part of the Sultan’s fleet, including the Ferrari 456 GT Venice, commissioned by Prince Jefri.

The Sultan also commissioned a special F90 supercar.

Other collections don’t come close to the Sultan’s

Design legend Ralph Lauren is believed to own the second largest and most valuable collection.

As well as one of fashion’s leading lights, Lauren is also a massive automotive fan.

With a net worth of more than $7 billion, he’s in a position to afford just about anything.

Yet his car collection ‘only’ values around $350 million, with some estimating it to be as high as $700 million.

There are at least 80 cars in his fleet, many in his private garage in Bedford, New York.

Lauren has modern icons such as the McLaren F1, but also plenty of classics including the 1938 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic.

A real automotive legend, only three of these exist, and this car alone is worth up to $40 million.

Lauren’s collection is without-a-doubt enviable, but it pales in comparison to that of the Sultan of Brunei.
