Our very own Alex Hirshi, AKA Supercar Blondie, got to take a spin in this asymmetrical car with a floating passenger seat, and that was just the tip of the iceberg when it came to this vehicle.
The DS X E-Tense is a futuristic concept designed by DS Automobiles for 2035.
Undoubtedly, the most striking thing about it is its asymmetrical design, leaving the driver and passengers in separate halves of the car.
You can only imagine what sort of reaction she’d get when she took this car out for a drive in London.

The DS X E-Tense is a seriously cool car, but it’s a totally asymmetrical car
Alex Hirschi, aAKA Supercar Blondie, was in London to take this concept car for a drive.
Now, on the face of it, that’s not too out of the ordinary.

After all, Alex has driven plenty of concept cars, from the 103EX to the Porsche 919 that was kept inside the archives for years.
But this car really was a one-off, as it was split into two, straight down the middle.
On one side was the driver’s cockpit, with an open roof and a butterfly door.
Beside it was the enclosed passenger side, with a glass floor and a gullwing door.

Two passengers could sit in that cocoon, enjoying the built-in coffee machine and massage chair.
But it’s not all about comfort with this car.
It can hold its own out on the streets, as Alex found out when she took it out for a drive around the British capital.
She likened it to driving in a motorbike with a sidecar, which was made all the more pertinent when a leaf blew into her seat.

“That was awesome! What I love is if you want the exhilarating wind in your hair feeling, you can get it,” she said.
“But if it’s rainy or cold outside, you can cocoon yourself [on the passenger side].”
It doesn’t hurt that the car has autonomous driving mode too.
Upon pulling up, she realized that the car had drawn its fair share of attention.
And can you honestly blame people for crowding around a little bit? This car would stand out anywhere.
How different would the driving experience be if Supercar Blondie invited a passenger in?
Alex wanted to get the full experience with this asymmetrical car, so she asked fellow YouTuber Caspar Lee to help out.
He hopped in the passenger side of the car and filmed his point of view.
“I feel like I’m in a cocoon!” Caspar remarked.

“I feel like I’m on the wing of an airplane,” Alex replied.
As they drove towards Buckingham Palace, they had plenty of people rubbernecking out on the streets.
At one point, a group of people even ran towards them to get a photo.
That’s some serious fanfare.
