It’s time to shed some light on one of the most talked-about videos Alex Hirschi – aka Supercar Blondie – has ever filmed, involving the police in Italy and the Lamborghini Terzo Millennio.
A few years ago, Supercar Blondie was interrupted by the police while filming a review of this futuristic supercar.
And she eventually also got a ticket.
But there’s more than meets the eye, and some behind-the-scenes details you may have missed.
What happened behind the scenes
Alex explained how she got her hands on the Lamborghini Terzo Millennio.
“Lamborghini organized for this car to be brought to the main square in Sant’Agata [Lamborghini’s hometown, ed.] so that I could show it. And I was stoked they organized this special day out for this car,” she said.
“We couldn’t drive it anywhere, because this is a show car so it doesn’t actually drive, but I didn’t mind because it just looks so cool and there’s so much technology on it.”
It didn’t take long for things to take an unexpected turn.

What do you remember feeling when the police arrived?
“So I was in the middle of my review of the Lamborghini Terzo Millennio, and two serious-looking police officers got out of their car, and they started asking questions,” she explained.
She revealed that she was a little taken aback at first.
“They were asking so many questions – ‘Why is this car parked here?, ‘What are you doing in the town square?’ – and then they put a ticket on the car.”
Alex said she was feeling a bit on edge.
But then there was a plot twist.

“I eventually found out that it was a prank on the part of Lamborghini,” she said.
“Lambo arranged the whole thing and the police in Italy played along. It was quite well-executed because I only knew about it when they told me,” Alex revealed.
She also added that there was an extra problem no one predicted.
“When I uploaded the YouTube video, so many people – not just from Italy – watching the video got outraged that I’d been given a ticket, and so they started calling into the police station,” she said.
“Eventually, I had to release a statement to reveal that it was all a prank.”
What was it about this Lamborghini that made it so special?
Terzo Millennio means ‘third millennium’ in Italian, and Supercar Blondie explained why that name matters.
“This represents where Lamborghini – as a brand – is heading in the next millennia. And it was also Lambo’s vision of what their first electric car should look like,” she said.
“And if that’s the case, sign me up. The Lamborghini Terzo Millennio looks unreal.”
One thing that really stood out was the attention to detail.
“They’re working with MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) to develop technology that allows the body of the car to generate energy to power it,” she said.
“And they also ‘invented’ self-healing carbon fiber so when it’s scratched, it will emit a type of glue to heal the scratch before it gets bigger.”
What else stood out about this Lamborghini?

In Alex’s view, the Lamborghini Terzo Millennio was first and foremost technically and visually stunning.
“Many people don’t like the fact electric cars are mainly silent, but Lamborghini wants to make sure electric Lambos still have a unique sound, which is why they’ve come up with the idea that as air flows over the body of the car it will generate a soundtrack,” she explained.
This is interesting because that’s very similar to what Ferrari is doing with its first EV.
“The sound will be self-generating, not composed and fed through speakers. So it won’t be a roaring V12 from Italy or Germany, but it will be something we’ve never heard before,” Supercar Blondie said.
Last but certainly not least, this car is a design masterpiece.
“I absolutely love working with the design director of Lamborghini, Mitja Borkert. He’s a visionary,” she said.
