Tesla drivers and Tesla owners with more than 150,000 miles on their cars have revealed how their EVs are holding up.
They did it on Reddit, in response to a post that specifically asked that question.
The results were mixed and interesting.
But one thing i particular stood out.

One thing all Tesla drivers seem to agree on
Reddit can be an interesting place.
Somebody asked a very specific question on the platform.
“Does anyone have 150,000+ miles on their EV? How’s it holding up?” the question read.
While the question targeted all EV owners, most responses came from Tesla owners.
The thread has already attracted hundreds of replies, revealing a wide range of issues.
But the one thing that stood out is that, for the most part – those issues were minor.

“154k on my Model S, no issues to speak of. Interior still good, range decreased from 325-280 but has held there since about 120k,” one user said.
Losing about 40 percent of range after 154,000 miles isn’t bad.
“My 2016 Model S is similar. About 7% battery degradation after 140,000 miles, had to do a screen replacement and tires of course. [But] by far less maintenance than my last Toyota,” another Redditor commented.
Are EVs more reliable than gas cars?

Answering this question would probably require a UN resolution.
On the one hand, it is true that electric cars have fewer moving parts and that EV batteries can outlive gas cars.
But it’s also true that a recent consumer report has found that EVs have nearly 80 percent more problems than gas-powered cars.
The good news is that there’s another study that confirmed that actual battery failures are exceedingly rare, disproving one of the most common EV myths.
It is also true that, apart from Tesla, no major automaker has a long track record of EVs.
So this question will probably be a bit easier to answer in the coming years.
