This Tesla Model S Plaid sale in Florida has highlighted just how quickly the EV appears to be depreciating, but it’s fine for the seller because he’s ‘rich’ and ‘doesn’t care about money’.

The Model S Plaid was once the pinnacle of EV manufacturing.

But many rivals have since entered the market.

Now, it seems people are trying to offload the vehicles, and the depreciation is causing issues.

This Tesla Model S Plaid flops in price but the seller doesn’t care about money

The Tesla Model S Plaid is a phenomenal EV, capable of doubling as your standard everyday driver and an undercover beast on the racetrack.

But despite being one of the fastest EVs on the market, technology moves quicker, and the once industry-leading car has now plummeted in value.

Still, the ‘cheap’ Model S Plaid is able to rival the finest supercars.

Despite this, one person in Florida is struggling to sell their Model S just months after buying it.

Having paid $76,000 just two months ago, this man – on behalf of his mum – bought a different car and is looking to recoup some of the cash.

Unfortunately, the highest bid fell short of expectations at $56k.

On the platform Cars and Bids, the Tesla Model S Plaid didn’t meet the reserve price of $60k, leaving a handful of people scraping around to see if they could make the sale happen.

But the Florida seller didn’t help speed things along, starting a war in the comments.

In fact, the blasé attitude was summed up by one comment where he claimed he didn’t care about the car much because he is rich.

“Well, like I mentioned in the now deleted comments, I’m rich and don’t really care about selling the car that much,” user ‘SpatialTrader’ said.

“Just wanted to see what someone would buy it for.”

Despite having put just 2,000 miles on the clock in a two-month ownership, the Model S Plaid appears to have depreciated by a significant $11k.

The pearl-white Tesla has continued interest from some local buyers, with the asking price of $60k getting bartered for in the comments.

But it’s still a damning state for both the Model S and the seller.

Others have claimed to have lost huge sums on the Model S Plaid in recent years, one person even revealed a massive six-figure loss.
