These guys pitted a Tesla Model X Plaid against a Lamborghini Huracán in a quarter-mile drag race.
The X Plaid is a fast car with a lot of torque, but the Lambo is, well, a Lambo.
The drag race produced an interesting result.
While the gap was as wide as you might expect, the outcome certainly surprised a few.

The guys from the Drag Racing and Car Stuff YouTube channel put a Tesla Model X Plaid with over 1,000 horsepower up against a Lamborghini Huracán in a drag race.
The Huracán uses a 5.2-liter V10, producing up to 600 horsepower depending on the model.
The Model X Plaid is even more powerful, with two electric motors giving it 1,020 horsepower.

But, more importantly, the Tesla has 1,050lb-ft of torque, while the Lambo has to make do with ‘only’ 443lb-ft.
Even so, the Huracán was actually faster off the line than the Model X, and it managed to keep the Tesla behind its taillights for the first few yards.
However, Tesla’s instant torque then did what it does best, and the Model X caught up, and then overtook the Lambo and then left it for dead.
The Model X did the quarter mile in just 9.83 seconds, a whole second faster than the Lambo.

In the future, it’s going to be increasingly difficult for gas cars to keep up when it comes to sheer acceleration, even when it comes to heavier vehicles.
The record-breaking Cyberbeast, for example, has so far managed to beat a long list of supercars, including a Porsche 911, a Lamborghini Aventador, and even other EVs, such as the GMC Hummer EV.
And this is despite the fact that the Cybertruck weighs around the same as two Porsche 911s put together.
