Tesla has upped the ante when it comes to ordering its newest cars, optimizing its latest technology to make it easier than ever to take delivery of a Model Y.

Here’s one for the Door Dash gang.

Tesla officials have taken to social media to address the developments in the Full Self-Driving mode trials in the latest models.

After testing no-driver cars on the roads of Austin, Texas, Tesla has now claimed that brand-new cars will drive themselves to your doorstep straight from the dealership, and you don’t need to move from your couch.

Tesla cars will start delivering themselves to customers’ doors

Tesla’s FSD tech has been rapidly increasing, so much so that the EV fleet has launched its Robotaxis in Texas, escorting people around Austin without the help of a driver.

The new FSD-piloted taxis have found varying degrees of success in their first day on the roads, and now Elon Musk has claimed that more Tesla cars are being prepared for driverless journeys.

Next up are brand-new Model Y cars.

According to the Tesla Founder, the Model Y cars will be available for ‘self-delivery’, meaning you can effectively buy a new car online and have it drive up to your house without you lifting a muscle.

“For the past several days, Tesla has been testing self-driving Model Y cars (no one in driver’s seat) on Austin public streets with no incidents,” Musk said on X (Twitter).

“Next month, first self-delivery from factory to customer.”

Tesla’s FSD continues to make life easier

The 2025 Model Y has become increasingly popular in Texas, with demand for the new cars halting the production of the Cybertruck.

With supply and demand so high, it’s likely that Texas will prove to be the guinea pig again for the driverless drop-offs.

The new Model Y is nearly entirely deleting the need to go to dealerships now, as its latest software update has added a feature that makes the car self-diagnose any issues and even order replacement parts all by itself.

It seems like we’re all entering the Black Mirror dystopia where we no longer need to leave our homes, with food, groceries, and brand-new Model Y cars all being dropped off with the single click of a smartphone.

Scary or cool, you can’t deny that it’s innovative.
