Having rolled out the Tesla Robotaxi to the public in Austin, Texas, the new driverless cab service has already been caught making a ‘rough’ mistake at a major junction.
The Robotaxi service is set to be a revolutionary accomplishment.
That is, if it is a successful large-scale service.
But the Full Self-Driving (FSD) controls might not be as reliable as Tesla would have liked, as the Robotaxi has already been filmed getting into quite a muddle.

Tesla Robotaxi clips made ‘rough’ FSD mistake
With the Tesla Robotaxi now available in Austin, the early reviews have been pouring in, most of which have praised the service and its original low rates.
But the self-driving EVs haven’t been successful for every customer, as one clip has surfaced that shows the internal struggle between FSD and the navigation system, forcing the car into a dangerous blunder.
Highlighted on Reddit and YouTube, one Robotaxi pulled into the left lane at a cross junction before shooting across the lanes.

Thankfully, the streets weren’t as busy as other parts of Texas, and nobody was in the right-hand lane, which was cut up. Otherwise, the Tesla may have caused a bit of bother.
From the clip, it’s also clear that the FSD service wanted to go straight on, while the navigation was glitching between turning left and moving forward.
‘It’s not a great look’
Previously, the FSD system has come without many complaints at all, even managing to carry around a cup of water without spilling a drop. Impressive.
But on a busy street, it’s a different beast to tame, and the Robotaxi is coming under a bit of pressure with this blunder making the rounds on social media.
“That’s a clear intersection with clear markings. That’s legitimately a rough look,” said one Redditor.
Another disgruntled Tesla critic said, “It’s pretty much a perfect scenario for a camera only system. Clear weather, not too much traffic, lines perfectly visible and it still f****d up.”
A third added, “Ooof, that’s not a good look.”

The Robotaxi is set to be just the start for the self-driving trend at Tesla.
Recent posts on social media reveal that the famed Founder also plans on rolling out a delivery service for the Model Y, where it will drive itself to its new owner’s house in Texas.
But the tech will have to tighten up if it wants to continue being the safe escort service it prides itself on.
