A Ford F-350 with over 4 million miles sounds like a typo, but this one could potentially exist.

The owner said his truck has racked up more than 4.4 million miles, which is a pretty absurd number.

Perhaps even wilder was his claim that the Ford truck still had its original engine.

When a Texas dealer got the call, he was immediately intrigued.

Many people online were skeptical

The truck in question is a 2000 F-350 powered by the legendary Ford 7.3L Power Stroke diesel, an engine widely respected for its durability and longevity.

Owned by a full-time boat and RV transporter, the truck has spent its life crossing the country, piling on miles at an extreme rate.

According to the owner, the odometer has rolled over multiple times, which is something that older vehicles like this are known to do after reaching their maximum display.

Perhaps the most eyebrow-raising part of his claim was that the engine is still original.

According to the owner, major components, including the rear end, remain untouched, and he’s only just now replacing injectors and glow plugs after 25 years.

While the 7.3 Power Stroke has a reputation for going the distance, many viewers and commenters online have expressed serious doubt that any engine could reach over 4 million miles without a rebuild.

“There’s no way he’s on the original motor in a 4.4 million-mile truck. Ford would’ve bought it back already,” said one person.

Another joked that the owner must have missed out a digit, and that the Ford truck only had 440,000 miles on it, which is still a very respectable figure.

Many people also did the math and were understandably confused.

One man summed up several people’s thoughts: “Look… I don’t think it’s possible to drive a truck 200,000 miles a year for 22 years straight on all original parts.”

Valuing a truck that has more than a million miles is difficult

The Ford F-350 Super Duty is no stranger to hard work.

Designed for towing and hauling, especially in a dually configuration, these trucks are built to endure tough conditions over long periods.

Even so, most high-mileage examples top out in the hundreds of thousands.

In rare cases, the truck could cross over a million miles.

That’s what makes this claim so controversial.

As for its value, the situation is just as unusual.

Despite the truck’s incredible story, dealerships aren’t exactly lining up with big offers.

Extreme mileage makes it difficult to price, and traditional valuation tools simply don’t apply.

The owner said he’s only received offers in the $500 to $1,000 range so far, with the truck’s condition and his financial history adding further complications.

With such underwhelming offers, it’s perhaps best for the owner to sell it back to Ford.

After all, many carmakers end up offering customers who’ve put more than a million miles on their vehicle a brand-new model to reward them for their loyalty.
