Texas man quits his 6-figure job to become a pilot

At just 25 years old, this young Texas man has quit his 6-figure job for pastures new, targeting the skies to become a pilot.

Many young lads would bite your hands off for a six-figure salary.

But this Texas man wasn’t fulfilled by office life and has acted on a passion for flying.

Now, he’s officially resigned and embarked on a new flight.

Fast cars, fast engines, fast planes. That’s what we love, and it appears others do too, leaving behind lives on the treadmill for new horizons.

Whether it’s leaving corporate life to sail around the world with a cat, or starting up a new company restoring celebrity cars, the temptations of a life with motor oil for breakfast are tempting.

Now, 25-year-old Callum Dillehay has resigned from an insurance job, despite earning a pretty penny, and has embarked on a new venture to become a pilot.

Taking to a YouTube upload on a brand-new channel, the young man revealed that he has enrolled in a 12-month course, learning everything from private to commercial flying.

“I traded suits and spreadsheets for cockpits and clouds because life’s too short to settle,” he said.

“It’s one of the scariest things I’ve ever done in my entire life.

Is it worthwhile?

Of course, this is not a cheap change of direction. Having been quoted $200 an hour for the course, he’s expecting to accrue a huge sum of outgoings in this year-long jobless stint.

But, pilots do earn a lot of money – in fact, one US airline Captain recently broke down how much they earn in one year.

It gets more expensive if you find private flying a hobby, too. Another enthusiast also documented the costs of owning her own plane.

Still, Dillehay could be on to a winner if he sticks with it.

Already, he has said to have recorded a session in which he needed to do his first emergency stop, and the content is to come out in the future.
