Turns out that you can even get fashion fails in the car world, and this BMW 740i is a good reminder that not everyone should be allowed to customize their cars.

An American vinyl shop has caused a bit of a stir online with the reveal of a car it wrapped using an interesting two-tone approach.

It looks as though the luxury car drove directly from the 1980s, and when it comes to the internet’s reaction to it, the crowd goes…mild.

The already awkward-looking BMW 740i caused a stir in its original form, but the color has really added another layer of weirdness on top of it.

Not everyone should be allowed to customize their cars

When you look at this BMW 740i, you might wonder if you’ve fallen into some parallel universe where they invented the 7-series BMW in the 1980s.

The already strange-looking kidney grilles and tiny, weird headlights of the BMW 740i are certainly not improved by this interesting new wrap color.

Black and gold, white and red, and even the classic ‘Le Mans’ blue and orange would be obvious choices for this BMW, but instead it’s been wrapped in neon yellow and metallic purple.

It’s back to the future for this BMW 740i

The top half’s metallic purple is actually quite cool and shiny, but it is somewhat let down by the bottom half’s neon yellow.

Where the BMW 740i really shines, however, is the super luxurious interior, where you can hide from the exterior.

The sedan definitely has undergone some other changes, like the aftermarket wheels and the matching yellow brake calipers; however, the wheels have a sleek black finish instead of the neon yellow.

This 80s BMW is no sight for sore eyes, and it’s a bit of a reminder that not everyone should be allowed to customize their cars.
