A mechanic has turned to the internet for advice after she spotted something strange firmly attached to the rim of a Volvo.
The mechanic was servicing the car when she made an unusual discovery on the wheel.
Baffled by what she saw, she posted on TikTok to ask if any of her followers could shed some light on the situation.
Thankfully, she did get an answer, but it wasn’t ideal.

The mechanic found out what was lurking on the rim of the Volvo
Mechanics probably come across all manner of strange things in the line of duty, like this one that found an old pizza crust in the axle of a Mazda, or this team who were called in to deal with a 10-foot python behind the dashboard of a BMW.
However, mechanic and TikTok user @wrenchwithang recently found something that left her completely stumped.

In the clip, she zoomed in on the rim of the Volvo’s wheel where five little sprouts could be seen popping up. Probably not an ideal situation, is it?
“I’ve never seen anything like this,” she wrote in a caption. “Does anyone have an answer for me?”
Of course, with it being social media, plenty of folks couldn’t resist cracking a gag.
“Curb counter, every time you hit a curb, you get another one,” one follower joked.
“Wheel lashes, they’re a trend right now,” someone else wrote.
“Alien eggs?” a third suggested.
However, amongst the jokes, the mechanic did get a real answer with several people telling her they were lacewing eggs.

Green lacewings, or chrysopidae to give them their official Latin name, are small green-colored insects.
The bugs can lay up to 300 eggs during their lifetime, and while they usually prefer grassy areas, it seems one of them quite fancied setting up a nest on a Volvo.
There have been plenty of surprising discoveries on cars
Although unusual, we’re not quite sure it’s the strangest thing that’s been found in a car in recent times.
This 1972 Lincoln Continental had a whole family of mice living under the hood, while the man who bought this incredibly cheap Tesla Model 3 quickly discovered that it was ‘filled to the brim with roaches’.
Lovely.
It’s not all bad, though; this unearthed 1969 Plymouth GTX was discovered stashed away in a barn with $10,000 under the seat.
