This 1990 Chevrolet Beretta GT Indy has just 52 miles on the clock and is a real time capsule that has even held onto its original owner’s cassette tape.

Chevrolet launched the Beretta in 1987, and production ran for just under a decade.

In 1990, a special edition Chevrolet Beretta Indy 500 pace car replica was introduced.

And this example may be the lowest mileage model out there.

The 1990 Chevrolet Beretta GT Indy was a special edition

There’s something particularly exciting about discovering a vintage vehicle with super-low mileage, like this 1968 Ford Mustang Coupe with just 1,031 miles on the clock, or this long-forgotten 1981 BMW M1 that had done only 4,500 miles.

But even those numbers are worlds apart from the odometer on this 1990 Chevrolet Beretta GT Indy.

The one-owner vehicle accumulated just five miles in 24 years.

As well as being low-mileage, it’s also a rare model.

Only 1,500 yellow Beretta pace cars were produced, and this one is made even rarer thanks to its five-speed manual transmission.

As you might expect, the car is in incredible condition with its bright yellow paintwork looking as fresh as it did the day it rolled off the production line.

Inside, there is a similar story with immaculate interiors and everything in working order.

The car has recently been listed for sale with Volvo Auto Sales and has been branded a ‘time capsule’ in the listing.

As well as looking like it’s been suspended in time since the 1990s, the car has got the original owner cassette tape, which told new buyers all about their new Beretta, alongside a bunch of other original items, including the window sticker and Indy decals.

“This car is in collector grade and a nostalgic piece of the early 90’s to add to your collection,” the listing reads.

The original Beretta Indianapolis 500 pace car was a convertible

In 1990, a Chevrolet Beretta Convertible was selected to be the Indianapolis 500 pace car and was driven by Jim Perkins and Don Bailey.

To mark being chosen as a pacer for one of the world’s most iconic races, Chevrolet decided to put a special edition Chevrolet Beretta GT Indy into production.

However, rather than the convertible model folks would have seen in the race, the decision was made to release it as a coupe.

With the cars being a limited edition, they’re often snapped up by collectors.
