This man visited a tiny Florida airport and found a ‘secret’ abandoned $3M jet behind the hangar.

YouTuber Aerostar Aircraft Sanctuary paid a visit to an airport north of Lake Okeechobee.

The jet is not in a good state, but it’s still a cool find.

But what do we know about this abandoned plane?

For plane enthusiasts, abandoned jets are something of a goldmine.

Admittedly, we think even the average person would be quite excited at the prospect of seeing one up close.

Whether they’re found in a South Carolina forest or a Canadian parking lot, they’re an awesome find.

Some abandoned planes have even been repurposed for creative ends – becoming street-legal cars, or even race cars.

Aerostar Aircraft Sanctuary paid a visit to an airport in Florida, where several planes had been left out on the runway.

Among them was a Piper Cherokee 140 and a Falcon 20.

But what really caught his eye was a Gulfstream Aerospace G-IV 19-passenger jet.

It’s not looking great, with the thrust reversers missing and the plane’s body looking discolored.

Being left out in the open air, exposed to the elements, hadn’t been kind to this plane.

But despite that, it’s still enough to make you stand in awe.

Unfortunately, the YouTuber didn’t take a look at the plane’s interior.

We can’t imagine it’s a perfectly preserved time capsule, but getting a closer look would still have been neat.

In the description for the video, the YouTuber gave more information on the plane.

“The Gulfstream IV and derivatives are a family of twinjet aircraft, mainly for private or business use,” they wrote.

“They were designed and built by Gulfstream Aerospace, a General Dynamics company based in Savannah, Georgia, United States, from 1985 until 2018.

“Aircraft power is provided by two Rolls-Royce RB.183 Tay turbofans,” they went on.

The average price was estimated to be between $2.0m and $2.6m.

Over 900 units were made in total, and these planes made appearances in various countries’ air forces.

That includes the United States, Sweden, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Japan, the Netherlands, and Chile.
