Toyota has finally confirmed the upcoming GR GT.

And it has done so with a brand-new teaser video.

The teaser video comes with some wild design reveals.

And it looks like people should be getting quite excited.

Toyota throws the covers off something very cool

Three years ago, Toyota unveiled something pretty special – its GR GT3 concept at the 2022 Tokyo Auto Salon.

Since then, people have been waiting to see if a road-going version would follow suit.

For the past few years, rumors have suggested that such a supercar would be coming, but it would be under the Lexus badge.

Now, though, Toyota has emphatically put those rumors to rest because the brand confirmed that the car will be released under the Gazoo Racing division.

Ahead of its global premiere next week, we also found out the name of the new release.

And it has been christened…the GR GT.

In order to promote the new model, Toyota unveiled a TV commercial in Japan.

And it’s an excellent opportunity to get a better view of what’s coming.

Interestingly, the GR GT was displayed alongside two of its predecessors: the Lexus LFA and the Toyota 2000GT.

The V10 of the LFA screams into life, before the inline-six sings from the 2000GT.

What form will the new GR GT take?

Following those two, it appears to be the noise of a new V8 that can be heard.

It has been rumored that the new car will come with a brand-new V8 engine.

A pair of turbochargers is expected to be paired with a 4.0-liter powerplant.

The brand has kept quiet about specifics – and it hasn’t mentioned anything about whether it could be a hybrid or not.

So, how much could this new Toyota GR GT actually cost?

Well, it will likely cost somewhere in the six-figure territory.

It would be hard to imagine it reaching the $375,000 figure of the Lexus LFA.

That price tag actually meant that Lexus lost money on every LFA it sold.

So perhaps expect a figure in the $150,000-$200,000 range.
