A man who used to drive a Toyota Prius has given his honest review after buying a 2025 Tesla Model 3 Performance and driving it 1,000 miles.

The motorist had been driving around in a 2016 Toyota Prius for years when he decided to upgrade to a 2025 Model 3 in June.

After hitting 1,000 miles in his EV, he took to Reddit to share his honest opinion on the car.

And he admitted it got off to a shaky start.

1,000 in the Tesla Model 3 Performance

For anyone who is thinking of making the switch from a gas-powered car to an EV, it can be useful to read real-life experiences from others.

Thankfully, when it comes to Teslas, there are plenty of folks who are happy to share their opinions.

Like this man who revealed how much he’s really spent on his Model 3 after six years, or this man from California who gave a review of his Cybertruck after a year of driving it

Now, a former Toyota Prius owner from the US has also shared an honest review of a 2025 Tesla Model 3 Performance.

In a post on Reddit, he admitted that he and his new EV got off to a bit of a shaky start.

He explained that he had a ‘bad sales experience’ and that when the car arrived, he noticed some chipped paint and panel gaps.

He took his car to the service center, where they fixed the issues, but then discovered the onboard computer had some faults, which are currently being addressed.

He’s also experienced ‘cabin rattles’ that will need to be fixed with a third trip to the service center.

Despite those few hiccups, the Tesla owner says he was impressed by the car.

“The power is definitely more than enough, even for driving in Chill mode,” he wrote

“Handling feels very on par with performance vehicles that are two times, and even three times the price.”

He was also quick to praise the adaptive suspension and the bucket seats.

Overall, he’s more than happy with his purchase and says he ‘truly loves’ and ‘enjoys driving’ the 2025 Tesla Model 3 Performance.

“Seriously, best bang for the buck out there when it comes to performance vehicles,” he added.

Model 3 driver warning for other Tesla owners

While the proud owner of the 2025 Tesla Model 3 Performance above is delighted with his new car, a fellow Model 3 driver with a few more years of ownership under his belt recently shared a warning.

He bought his Model 3 Performance a few years back and says that newer features, like Grok AI assistant, are not compatible with the vehicle due to outdated hardware.

He went on to say that despite paying for Full Self-Driving, he said the car no longer qualifies for future versions.

“It would just be nice if this one worked as advertised in any way whatsoever,” he wrote in a post on Reddit.
