This Toyota Tacoma 2000 owner has claimed that he’ll never buy a new car again after being pulled over by the police.
With vintage cars on the rise and ever more fashionable by the day, it seems like drivers aren’t just opting for these classic rides for their style.
Nowadays, you need a PhD in Engineering to replace a light in the extensive EVs.
But not in a classic Toyota, just as this TikTok personality has now shared.
TikTok personality reveals why he prefers a Toyota Tacoma 2000 over a new car
The further that cars plunge into this new electric era, the more bizarre the designs become.
Take the upcoming Tesla Model Y Juniper for example, which has a long bar headlamp/taillight on the front and rear, respectively.
Imagine trying to change the bulb in that. It’s likely you’re either going to have to have a deep understanding of assembling car body parts, or enough cash to take your car to a garage.
But not in the plain old simple Toyota Tacoma 2000.
In fact, it only takes four screws to change a bulb in the Tacoma, and it’s so simple that a toddler can do it.
That’s why this TikTok personality has claimed that they will never be buying a new car again and will stick with reliable classics like the Toyota Tacoma 2000.
@bigkrcarter Have had this 2000 Tacoma for 3 years, never had a single issue (knock on wood). 2nd best vehicle I’ve ever owned. Get you a Taco!! #toyotatacoma #trucktok #reliablecar #oldcarstuff #righttorepair @O'Reilly Auto Parts ♬ original sound – ⚡️ Kyle ⚡️
In a recent viral video on the platform, user @bigkrcarter revealed that they were pulled over by the police for having a busted taillight.
But, it took him just seconds to buy a new bulb and replace it. He even allowed his young daughter to put the car back together.
“There are things on new cars that are easy to fix, but this 2000 Tacoma – I literally bought this thing because 90 percent of the s**t that it takes to maintain this car, I can do by myself and save myself a s**t ton of money,” he said.
“This right here is why I’ll never own a new car again.”
While the Tacoma might not be the most gorgeous-looking car in the world – or even the prettiest pickup like this custom American Rolls-Royce – its practicality makes it a superb car to own.
One fellow driver confessed that it cost them ‘$2,500 for a new headlight in my Hyundai,’ showcasing why it can be much easier to have a cheaper and more reliable car.
The Tacoma can even double as a wave machine, which you definitely wouldn’t be able to do with these new EVs without frazzling everyone nearby.
Fun in the sun and easy fix? Maybe the TikTok personality has his the nail – or screws – on the head.
