It’s no secret that the Tesla Cybertruck is an expensive car, but after owning her EV for one year, one woman decided to get it valued at CarMax.
With prices starting at $79,000, the Cybertruck is favored by many EV enthusiasts across the US thanks to the unique exterior and a powertrain that can tackle tricky terrain with ease.
The truck also boasts clever features like Full-Self-Driving and Camping Mode, which set it apart from the rest.
Not looking to actually sell the EV, the creator got an appraisal out of curiosity and was left surprised at what she was offered.

Here’s what you really need to know about the Tesla Cybertruck
First released in 2023, the first EV pickup from Tesla immediately drew attention thanks to its unique design.
From the unique stainless steel exoskeleton to the shatter-resistant glass, the Cybertruck was built to withstand even the toughest challenges.

The powetrain is impressive too, with the battery boasting a range of 312 miles, a top speed of 130mph, and the ability to reach 0-60 mph in a mere 2.6 seconds.
However, like any car, over time value can depreciate due to wear and tear and other updated versions being available on the market.

So, curious to see how much her Cybertruck would fetch in value, content creator EV & Chill took her Tesla Cybertruck to Carmax for an appraisal after amassing 14,000 miles on the odometer across a year of ownership.
CarMax valued the Cybertruck and shocked its owner
Let us set the scene.
The Tesla Cybertruck in question was described by the YouTuber as being in ‘good condition’, boasting all-wheel drive, new BFG tires, and a wrap on the exterior, with her also stating that it is cleaned out weekly.
“Some people say that wraps can hurt a car’s resale value.
“Personally, I think the wrap kind of helps,” she explained.

Expecting to get between $57,000 and $60,000, she drove to her local CarMax site, ready for the outcome.
The process was quick and simple, and the outcome left the creator speechless.
After the appraisal, the YouTuber explained that the offer given by CarMax came in at a mighty $66,000, without even taking it for a test drive.
“I was not expecting that,” she said.
We should note here that a brand new All Wheel Drive Cybertruck starts at $79.990, so the deal really wasn’t bad at all.
The creator also looked at other valuations, including private parties of around $72,000, and Kelley Blue Book, which valued it at around $69,000.
Even though she wasn’t looking to actually sell her car, it is always useful to have the figure for future reference.
Plus, it showed that even if a car is wrapped, the value can still be momentous.
Even when kids use the car, too.
