A Utah billionaire says that his wife bought him a Ferrari supercar for his 50th birthday as it was the ‘cheapest midlife crisis’.
A video on TikTok saw the man interviewed briefly by The School of Hard Knocks account, and the man in question was Steve Houghton from Dallas.
He had pulled up in his supercar and revealed that he was a billionaire, explaining how he had come by his fortune and why his wife had bought him the Italian supercar.
We wonder, though, what is more expensive than a midlife crisis than a Ferrari!

The Billionaire’s wife bought him the Italian supercar
Houghton is asked first of all if it is his supercar, and he says yes, revealing that his wife bought it for him.
According to the billionaire, his wife came up to him, telling him she had ‘done all the research’.
That research led her to conclude that a Ferrari was the most affordable midlife crisis around.
Houghton revealed he was a business owner and that he amassed much of his fortune from oil and gas.

The interviewer asked if he came from a lot of money, but he said he didn’t.
It was that which made him want to be as successful as he is.
He also revealed how he leased minerals out to clients, helping him to amass his fortune.
Can a Ferrari supercar really be cheap?
The question is, can a Ferrari actually be a cheap purchase?
Well, usually no, and we doubt this billionaire’s wife paid just a few thousand for his supercar.
But depending on the Ferrari in question, some of them can be quite cheap.
For example, a Ferrari Mondial from 1980 to 1993 isn’t going to stretch the budget like a modern SF90 Stradale.
In fact, you can pick them up for as low as $25,000.
The Ferrari 348 from 1989 to 1995 can also be found for a reasonable price of $35,000, and up to $75,000.
With a 300hp 3.4-liter V8 under the hood, we think that is a very good deal.
So if you aren’t a billionaire, there is still a chance you can get your hands on an Italian supercar in a midlife crisis.
