A Utah man is building his dream airplane from a box so he can build it up and fly it.
American YouTuber Wairworthy documented the journey several months ago, as he unveiled his plan to build the light aircraft.
The kit costs less than $50,000 to buy, and it would allow him to explore the remote parts of Utah and beyond, as well as allow him to camp out.
Doing this proves that aviation doesn’t have to be crazy complicated, nor involve hundreds of thousands of dollars.

What is the aircraft that the YouTuber is building?
The aircraft the YouTuber is building is the Zenith CH750 Super Duty.
It might not look like much, but it is the perfect aircraft to build in kit form for outback exploration.
The lightweight aircraft can take off and land in very short distances.
That makes it the ideal plane for exploring areas where grass or sandy runways are the only thing around.

Its all-metal construction ensures it is tough, and despite its small size, the Zenith can still carry three people.
If you want to take extra luggage on board instead, then the load will be reduced to two passengers.
But the chance to carry 200lbs of cargo makes trips away in the Zenith much more viable.
All this for less than $50,000 as well.
The dream airplane is surprisingly easy to build
Despite the YouTuber having no experience in aircraft building and sheet metal, the Zenith was surprisingly easy to put together.
All the parts come in two boxes, and there are around 700 in total for building the airplane from a box.
As well as the parts, Wairworthy also revealed that there are at least 10,000 rivets needed to put the CH750 together.
There is another dimension to this build, too.
While it costs less than $50k, the YouTuber wanted his aircraft to rival those that are much more expensive.
High-quality tools will be used in its construction, and time will be taken to put it all together.
Despite it being five months since the initial video on the build was uploaded, hopefully, further updates aren’t too far away!
