Volvo once dangled its president and a 15-ton truck in mid-air to prove one tiny hook could actually hold it all.

The president faced the sky to prove the robust build of a product.

The stunt was filmed in Sweden at a port.

Once you see how high in the sky the man was standing, you’ll wonder why he ever agreed to it.

Volvo is known for making robust, reliable cars.

From daily drivers to 4x4s, it has done it all.

For example, recently the XC60 received a tech facelift to drive it into the future – impressive, right?

Plus, one auto fan took his love of the brand to the next level and bought a 720,000-mile Volvo for $500 and became the owner of one of the highest-mileage cars in England.

But, when it comes to loyalty, the boss of Volvo Trucks went a whole extra mile… high in the sky.

The president, Claes Nilsson, decided to prove just how good the new FMX was by hanging on top of it, in the sky.

In the video, posted by Volvo Trucks South Africa, the businessman was captured elevated above Gothenburg Port, in Sweden.

It was all down to one hook – and its strength.

“Made of cast iron, and it holds up to 32 tonnes, that’s far more than this, so you don’t need to worry,” he explained

“In fact, you don’t need to worry about anything, the new Volvo FMX is the most robust truck we’ve ever made,” he continued.

But, the best part? The stunt was said to be all real. The president literally put his life on the line to prove a point.

The footage was cleverly captured by a helicopter and proved how dedicated he was to both his brand and his own reputation.

Online, social media users were left impressed by his dedication.

“That’s a man who truly believes in the quality of his product. And hence why Volvo trucks are so popular around the world,” said one user.

“Trusting the quality of his products and doing the marketing himself. What is not to like,” said another impressed person.

“Nerves of Swedish steel,” quipped another gearhead.

You can catch the impressive stunt in the video above.
