This man couldn’t believe the amount that WeBuyAnyCar offered him for his good-quality 2009 Jaguar XF Premium Luxury – especially given the initial quote he received.

The Jaguar XF was well-loved with no significant damage, but it came with scuffs, curbing, and some minor paint damage.

The only problem was that the XF came with a Category N insurance write-off status, which tanked the car’s potential worth.

Initially valued at $1,000, it seemed that its Category N status slashed the value in half, but when he took it to WeBuyAnyCar, what he was offered was almost laughable.

He was happy with the initial quote his car got

A British YouTuber’s colleague has recently bought a new car, so it means that his beloved old ride needed to hit the market.

The YouTuber took it upon himself to get the best price for his friend’s beloved 2009 Jaguar XF Premium Luxury, and he thought it would make a lot of money.

The car came in good-but-used condition with well-presented interiors, but some minimal scuffage, curbing, and some minor paint damage.

However, the dashboard had some warning lights, and it came with a Category N insurance write-off status due to some damage that had been fixed in the past.

He first valued the XF himself, thinking that he would’ve offered $600-$720 at best, considering the warning lights and its Category N status.

He thought that it would be worth around $1,200 retail if it were sold privately, because it was still in good-but-loved condition.

When he got online valuations done, Dealer Trade Tools suggested about $570, while WeBuyAnyCar online suggested $1,080.

Carwow valued it at $500, while Motorway gave a huge $2,140 estimate, but both places disqualified the car due to its Category N history.

This video is a lesson that a valuation is just that – a valuation.

When the YouTuber took the Jaguar XF to WeBuyAnyCar to get it valued in person, the valuation dropped incredibly drastically.

When the Cat N status came to light, the YouTuber was so shocked by the valuation offering that he couldn’t quite get the words out.

He even called up a scrap dealer who quoted more than triple what WeBuyAnyCar offered, showing that the XF had triple the amount of worth as scrap, instead of a reliable second-hand car.

In person, WeBuyAnyCar valued it at $77, around £64.01 in the UK, while the scrap dealer quoted $246.

It was shocking to the YouTuber that WeBuyAnyCars wanted less than the price of a tank of fuel.
