Jay-Z and Maybach do not, in fact, need any introduction.
The billionaire rapper, Roc Nation founder, and husband of Beyonce has lived a life few can ever match.
Back in the year 2006, Jay-Z created quite the car storm.
And now, it appears as though the mystery has been solved.

Jay-Z: allow him to reintroduce himself
Jay-Z is, without question, one of the most famous music figures on the planet.
Aside from his marriage to fellow superstar Beyonce, the Brooklyn native is considered one of the greatest rappers of all time.
He’s sold over 140 million records worldwide to date.

He has also won 25 Grammy awards for his work, the tenth-most of all time.
Aside from those achievements, he is also the first solo living rapper to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio.
And that is just scratching the surface of Jay-Z’s accolades.
Maybach mayhem in music video
In 2003, the rap star announced his retirement from music with The Black Album.
However, in 2006, he announced his much-anticipated return with the album Kingdom Come.
In the music video for the song Lost One, Jay-Z shows off a very special supercar.
In fact, it’s a one-of-one Maybach concept car, called the Exelero.

When it was revealed in 2005, it completely wowed the public.
It’s very easy to understand why, too, with its stunning, sleek design making it reminiscent of pre-war luxury coupe cars.
The luxury car itself actually has a very interesting origin story of its own.
It was conceived as a collaboration between Maybach and Fulda, a German tire company. It was meant to serve as a display of the performance of high-end tires.
An Italian car company called Stola actually built the concept car.
A biturbo 6.0-liter V12 produced just under 700bhp, and it was also good for a top speed of 218MPH, with a 0-60 time of 4.4 seconds.
All extremely impressive numbers for a concept car of 20 years ago.
Does the media mogul own the concept car?
Ever since the mid-noughties, there’s been a lot of debate over whether Jay-Z actually owns the car.
Well, it appears that the answer is… no.
At the moment, the Maybach Exelero is housed at the National Auto Museum in Germany.
So, it isn’t, contrary to reports, part of Jay-Z’s personal auto collection.
That being said, Jay-Z could probably buy the entire museum if he wanted to.
