A stunning and well-preserved 1959 Cadillac Coupe DeVille was recently unearthed in a dusty barn where it had spent the last 20 years.

The DeVille was introduced in 1949 as a trim level for the Series 62.

A decade on, it became a standalone model, which remained in production until 2005.

Recently, a very early example was found in a barn, and it’s in surprisingly good condition.

Cadillac Coupe DeVille discovered after 20 years in a barn

The Cadillac DeVille was officially a standalone car from the model year 1959.

That year, Cadlillac sold more than 53,000 units, which was almost 40 percent of all Cadillac sales that year.

Of those, just shy of 22,000 were Coupe DeVille models.

And one of them was bought new off the showroom floor by a man in California, who drove it for years before passing it on to his son.

The son also drove the car for years, but ultimately parked it up in a barn around two decades ago.

When he passed, the car ended up with his daughter, the original owner’s granddaughter, who decided to sell it.

It was then snapped up by car enthusiast Sarah, who runs the Caddy Girl Garage YouTube channel.

In a recent clip, Sarah hailed the 1959 Cadillac Coupe DeVille as ‘the iconic barn find’.

“This car has been sitting in a barn for about 20 years, just covered in about six inches of dust,” she added.

Fortunately, the climate in California meant that the Coupe DeVille hadn’t fared too badly.

Its previous owner had also waxed and placed a cover over it before parking it in the barn.

The Cadillac has held onto its original black paintwork, interiors, and the original 390-cubic-inch V8 engine.

With so long off the road, the car no longer runs but that wasn’t enough to put Sarah off buying it.

What’s next for the classic Cadillac?

In the clip, Sarah explained that she’s been looking for an all-original 1959 Cadillac like this for some time.

So when this one came along, she was quick to snap it up, drive down to the barn, put on some new wheels, and haul it out.

Now, Sarah is planning on restoring and reviving the vintage vehicle – and we can’t wait to see how it turns out.
