This lucky woman discovered a free Honda Civic prize in a Tim Hortons cup, but she was just a little too late.

The car enthusiast spotted the coffee cup in her garage, and a free car was at stake.

The prize, however, would prove to be out of reach.

And once car fans spotted the prize, they couldn’t help but comment on the situation.

This woman discovered a Tim Hortons cup and a Honda was at stake

We all find some interesting objects hidden within our garages and cars that accumulate over time, but this woman’s find may just top our list.

TikTok content creator rebeccamusslewhite shared how she found a Tim Hortons cup in her garage, but beneath the rim of the paper object was a surprise.

Thanks to a contest that the chain was running, she’d actually won a prize – a 2016 Honda Civic.

“I found this in my garage… is it too late to get my free car?” she asked.

Unfortunately, she was also nearly 10 years too late to claim.

The competition does still exist however, and has finished for 2025.

“Earn rolls by purchasing eligible items February 24th – March 23rd at participating U.S. Tim Hortons restaurants,” stated the website.

There were some impressive prizes on offer too, such as a 2025 Ford Bronco, an XBOX Series X 1TB, and even a Samsung 4K Smart TV.

So hey, maybe she could try again in 2026?

Gearheads react to the free Honda Civic courtesy of Tim Hortons

After watching the woman’s luck unfold online, gearheads couldn’t help but flock to the comments.

“That’s so incredibly unfortunate,” said one user.

“That cup worth more than 2016 Civic at this point,” said another.

“I would have been so mad finding this now. I could have had the free civic and just now be posting it to Facebook marketplace,” added a third.

Although it was too little too late, the Honda Civic would have been a handy daily driver.

In fact, one man managed to bring an abandoned $500 Honda Civic back to life in an incredible transformation.
