Imagine having the world’s largest residential palace, which has a 110-car garage as well as nearly 2,000 rooms, and costs over $1 billion to build. Well, that is exactly what the Sultan of Brunei has.
The Sultan of Brunei has one of the most incredible luxury homes you could ever dream of, plus a garage housing some of his fabled car collection.
The Sultan has the biggest car collection in the world, and one shrouded in mystery, with just a handful of images leaked to the world online.
For automotive fans, it is what is inside that amazing garage that truly counts.
What is inside the world’s largest residential palace?
Located on a leafy, riverside sprawl, the palace is situated on the banks of the Brunei River.
It’s just a few miles southwest of the country’s capital, Bandar Seri Begawan.

The Guinness World Records officially states the location as the largest residential palace in the world.
With an estimated net worth of $30 billion, it’s no surprise that the Sultan of Brunei has such an incredible home.
The location spans over 2.15 million square feet and has over 1,700 rooms.
These include a banquet hall with enough capacity for over 5,000 guests.

In terms of facilities, there are over 250 bathrooms and a mosque that can hold up to 1,500 people.
Swimming pools are another highlight, and the palace is often used for state functions.
But for automotive fans, the garage is the real highlight of the world’s largest residential palace.
What is in the Sultan of Brunei’s garage?
Only a few leaked images have given us a glimpse into the Sultan’s car collection.
It is estimated that, in total, he has at least 7,000 cars in his personal collection.

That includes the biggest private Rolls-Royce collection on the planet, with more than 600 of the luxury cars.
The fact that the palace’s garage can hold just 110 of them highlights the scale of the collection.
A vast array of Ferraris, including the custom 456 GT Venice, also features.
The Sultan also commissioned a special Ferrari F90 exclusively for himself and the collection.
Leaked images on Instagram gave us some idea as to what this vast array of cars looks like.
Yet for the most part, the Sultan’s personal fleet has remained a great enigma of the automotive world.
Sultan of Brunei car collection highlights
Bentley Dominator: This 1990s custom 4×4 was commissioned decades before luxury SUVs became an industry standard. The royal family purchased six of them for an estimated $4.6 million each, an influx of cash that reportedly saved Bentley from bankruptcy at the time
Ferrari F90: Six of these special-edition supercars were secretly built by Pininfarina in 1988 using the Testarossa chassis. The project was so highly classified that Ferrari officially denied the cars even existed for 17 years
Rolls-Royce Silver Spur II Stretch Limousine: Plated entirely in 24-carat gold, this bespoke vehicle is valued at roughly $14 million and was famously used for a royal wedding procession
McLaren F1: The garage originally housed 10 of these legendary hypercars, with around seven reportedly remaining today. This lineup includes ultra-rare racing variants like the LM and GT, which are now valued in the hundreds of millions on the current market
Ferrari 456 GT Venice: Pininfarina was paid massive sums to re-engineer the classic 456 grand tourer into highly unusual, custom body styles. This resulted in several four-door station wagons and convertibles built exclusively for the family
Custom Ferrari F40s: While almost all standard F40s left the factory in signature red with cloth seats, this collection features several custom-ordered versions fitted with full leather interiors, air conditioning, and unique paint jobs like matte black, silver, and green
The Rolls-Royce Fleet: Setting a Guinness World Record, the property houses the largest private assortment of Rolls-Royces on Earth. The fleet totals over 500 heavily customized cars, including hundreds of one-off limousines
Chevrolet Corvette: Tucked away among thousands of one-off, multi-million-dollar exotics sits a single, standard American Corvette, showing that even a $5 billion garage has a little room left over for a regular production sports car
