More than a dozen of the world's rarest hypercars were spotted in the back corner of LA airport in $50m mystery

If you ever needed proof that LA is basically a real-life video game lobby, more than a dozen of the world’s rarest hypercars were spotted in the back corner of the LA airport.

The hypercars were recently discovered parked behind a fence in a quiet back corner of the Los Angeles International Airport.

We’re talking about the kind of collection that would stop traffic at Pebble Beach, yet these cars were sitting at LAX under thin plastic covers like someone forgot to pick up their checked luggage.

And the collection might just be the most expensive mystery in the world.

World’s rarest hypercars spotted at LA airport

The surreal collection of supercars was captured in now-viral images and video footage.

In the front row alone was a McLaren Speedtail, Porsche 918 Spyder, and McLaren Sabre, a trio that could be worth around $8 million on their own.

But the further you look, the wilder it got.

The collection also included a Bugatti Chiron, Ferrari LaFerrari, Lamborghini Centenario, and a Pagani Huayra BC.

There was also a Ford GT, an Aston Martin One 77, and even a Gunther Werks modified Porsche 911, which somehow might be the least valuable thing in the entire lineup.

Then came the Koenigsegg lineup: at least three were spotted, including two Regeras and an Agera RS, which is the kind of gang that we want to be a part of.

What were the hypercars doing there?

The total value of the spectacular lineup could easily exceed $50 million.

They weren’t displayed in a showroom, or arriving at a supercar meetup, they were just chilling under dust sheets at LAX – and that’s what makes this whole situation so bizarre.

So what’s going on?

Well, it seems that nobody really knows.

But there are theories.

These theories range from a private collection being shipped overseas to cars headed for a major event, to vehicles seized and held as evidence.

It could even be a high-end auction move, but the truth is nobody knows, and that mystery is half the fun.

All we do know is this: a $50 million hypercar lineup at LA Airport is probably not something we will see again anytime soon.
