After having his request denied for a second garage, this Austrian man airlifted his 830hp Ferrari 296 GTB onto his private balcony.

Parking in Europe’s busy cities can be one of the more menial tasks in the world.

Especially when you’re curbing a $400k Ferrari 296 GTB Assetto Fiorano Edition next to a Fiat Punto.

So when parking was so limited, and this young millionaire was denied extra garage space, it was time to get creative.

Austrian millionaire cranes his $400k Ferrari 296 GTB to private balcony

Viennese entrepreneur Amar Dezic is the proud owner of a few supercars, including one Ferrari 296 GTB.

The supercar range is one of Ferrari’s most fearsome and extreme models, but with a signature look that stands out above the competition in Europe.

Dezic’s 296 dons the grey hue that has become popular with the brand, accented with fluorescent yellow.

But despite demanding respect on the road, in the parking lot, it gets no special measures.

In fact, his new purchase isn’t even allowed in his garage.

“I have several cars, but unfortunately, I couldn’t get another garage space,” he said in an interview with Austrian news outlet Heute.

“[The landlord] said at the time that it wouldn’t be a problem at all. He probably didn’t take me seriously.”

So, when the parking was limited, he chose to get creative and use his wealth to hire a crane.

The Ferrari 296 was filmed being airlifted onto his balcony, where it stayed for a matter of days.

Dezic claimed that he even planned on transforming his balcony into a glass garage.

However, the landlord wasn’t as accommodating, and the car had to come down.

Speaking to the outlet, he revealed it costs thousands of dollars for the crane lift (on and off the terrace) and has now been put back on the ground to compete for public parking spaces in his neighborhood.

When there’s a will, there’s a crane

The European man isn’t the only person to have this creative brainwave, though.

In fact, one billionaire in Australia went above and beyond to park his limited edition McLaren Senna, hauling it 57 stories into the air.

That Senna is destined to be more of an ornament than a functioning track-ready car, though.

Still, this method makes for hilarious viewing, as you can see in the header video of this article.

With hope, the Ferrari 296 can find a comfortable garage space for the foreseeable future.
