This guy bought a BMW 3 Series, the E46 model, for $1,600 from Facebook Marketplace, but the gamble didn’t pay off.
The title of his video says ‘$1,000’ but that’s probably just for the algorithm because he actually paid $1,600 for it.
But that’s beside the point, because the real issue was that the car overheating constantly, and that was only one of its many problems.
Less than $2,000 for a BMW E46 isn’t that bad, but as always, there’s probably a reason why it was so cheap.

Is buying a BMW 3 Series E46 from Facebook Marketplace a bad idea?
The short version of the answer is yes, because of the price, but also no.
In the clip, YouTuber Wyatt Webster says he bought the car because the price was impossible to resist.
There’s a reason why this BMW 3 Series from Facebook Marketplace was so cheap.
Webster said the drive back to the shop where he was going to have the car serviced was only about 20 minutes but, even so, he said he ‘had the feeling we’re still going to have to stop a thousand times’.
And he was right.
It took forever to get to the shop, and once they got there, they had to change a bunch of components to fix the issue because nothing seemed to work.
They finally managed, but their victory was short-lived because the engine failed completely when the YouTuber attempted to do some burnouts.
Buying cheap used cars is always a gamble
Buying a cheap used car is like closing your eyes and betting the house on red.
You can win big, or you can lose the house.
SamCrac, the YouTuber who bought a used Mercedes R-Class at auction, definitely won big.
SamCrac is clearly very good at this sort of thing.
The car only cost him $1,500, and he didn’t have to spend much to fix it.
A while back, he bought a dead Porsche Cayenne for just $700, and fixed it for peanuts.
On another occasion, he did the same thing with an Audi RS7, which was actually worth a lot more than he’d anticipated due to a couple of secret mods that came with the car.
He also once managed to get a Tesla Model S P90D for about half the price.
Other people aren’t as lucky.
Another YouTuber bought a second-hand Range Rover for $750, but he then had to spend a fortune to get it to run properly.
