This YouTuber bought the worst McLaren 650S Spider for just £19,000 (around $23,800) and took on the most challenging rebuild of his life.

The supercar has endured quite a lot, having crashed four times and being heavily used as a track experience car.

It had even rolled on its roof in one of its accidents.

Considering the damage to the car, it will be the most ambitious project on their channel.

Wrecked McLaren 650S Spider

YouTuber Chris Slix recently bought this wrecked McLaren 650S Spider to rebuild it with cheap parts.

Unfortunately, the supercar’s engine was so damaged that it had to be rebuilt entirely.

This isn’t their first time rebuilding a totally wrecked car, though.

Previously, the YouTuber also transformed a wrecked Mercedes AMG GT into a Black Series regular.

So, if anyone can restore this wrecked McLaren to its former glory, it’s Chris.

The car’s rear frame also had significant damage, so he decided to replace it with a cost-effective, second-hand part.

Repairing the car

Unfortunately, the fiberglass panels, doors, and roof components were severely damaged.

However, they could be repaired with resin and save them £4,120 (around $5,167)

When restoring a car, saving money wherever you can is very important for obvious reasons.

Chris also opted for cost-effective solutions previously by buying parts from China when building a $640,000 Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series.

Anyway, they further replaced the worn-out stock seats with high-quality P1 seats.

The YouTuber also replaced the damaged brakes and fitted the car with temporary AMG GT wheels.

After the repairs, they used dry ice blasting to clean the wrecked McLaren and give it a polished look.

The only thing left is to wait for additional parts, as the team has more upgrades and surprises planned.
