A man bought a 100-year-old Packard Six Sedan and it’s a true piece of automotive history.
The Packard Six was first launched all the way back in 1913 and – as the name suggests – came with a six-cylinder engine.
The US marque released three generations of the Six before production wound up in 1947.
The Packard Six was marketed as a luxury car – selling for upwards of $4,940, around $84,386 in today’s money.

The 100-year-old Packard was in great condition
As you’d expect it’s rare to see cars this old out and about but it turns out some of them were truly built to last, such as this 109-year-old Ford Model T or this GMC truck that started up despite more than 80 years off the road.
Meanwhile, ‘unusual vehicle’ enthusiast Joe Hewes – who runs the Mr Hewes YouTube channel – managed to get his hands on a 1923 Packard Six Sedan.
In a video shared to his channel, Hewes explained that he was drawn to the car as it was ‘completely the polar opposite’ of a Lamborghini.
Although produced by American-based Packard, the Six in question was actually made it in the UK.
The Packard Six is certainly an eye-catching piece of kit, with a wooden crafted body covered in aluminum.
But it’s the inside that really shows off the car’s classy credentials.
It has a neat surprise in the back
The interiors are covered in luxe-looking red velvet, which are perfectly complimented by the shiny wooden steering wheel and dashboard, complete with lights, a speedometer and a clock.
But the real highlight is the fully kitted-out drinks cabinet, which comes with a set of crystal glasses and its own lights. Fancy, right?
Opening up the hood, Hewes showed the incredibly ‘simple’ engine that can produce up to 54 horsepower – impressive stuff given its age.
Despite the fact it’s more than 100 years old, the Packard Six is in great condition and has clearly been well looked after by its previous owner.
Hewes took the vintage motor out for a spin on the road and said that ‘for an old car it’s really nice to drive’ but did admit that it ‘wanders’ a bit.
Not sure you’d get that with a Lamborghini…
