The owner of a a 16-year-old Civic handed it in at a Honda dealership in Canada, only for it to be deemed ‘uncleanable’.
YouTuber The Detail Geek was the one given the task of cleaning it up.
And it wasn’t going to be easy by any stretch, as this car was an attack on the senses.
It smelled bad and looked worse – but was it really ‘uncleanable’?

This 2009 Honda Civic was deemed ‘uncleanable,’ but how bad is it?
Hygiene is really important when it comes to cars.
So car enthusiasts obviously recoil in horror when they see a car that has gotten dirty.

Whether it be a Ford GT sat in a hoarder’s house or a Honda Acura NSX filled with mice, a messy car doesn’t bring anyone joy.
But on the flip side, watching a car get a deep clean is extremely satisfying, as was the case with this Rolls-Royce.
So how would YouTuber The Detail Geek do when it came to this mucky 2009 Honda Civic?
Although ‘mucky’ is an understatement – let’s be honest, this car was extremely gross.
It was so bad that the Honda dealership that received it branded it ‘uncleanable’.

Fortunately, the outside wasn’t too bad.
But the inside was a horror show.
The car’s owner had been a smoker, as evident by the cigarettes left littered around the interior.
But that wasn’t its only problem – hair, pistachio shells, and ‘horrifying’ stains were abundant too.
Could this car be turned around?
The Detail Geek said: “[The carpet floor mats] are easily one of the dirtiest I’ve ever seen.”
Years of smoking inside the car had left its mark, and only 10 minutes of pressure washing could remove the stink.

The seats were no feast for the eyes either, as years of stains had left them discolored.
And the amount of dirt that came off them was astounding.
But the horrors didn’t stop at the fabrics, as the center console was also disgusting.

“This car smells absolutely horrendous,” The Detail Geek commented.
“The smell is on par with some of the other chain smokers’ vehicles I’ve worked on.
“Probably thousands of cigarettes were smoked in this vehicle and its left its mark.
“The black sludge I found in the cup holder is a clear testament to that,” he explained.
Can we get a collective ‘Eww’ on that point?
Fortunately, this YouTuber knows how to clean and the end result looked worlds apart from what he started with.

“A long and grueling 12 hours later, and the disaster inside this Honda Civic has been completely undone,” he said.
