On Facebook Marketplace, a 1948 Rover is on offer for a small sum of $9k, and it’s your chance to own a piece of car history.

The vintage car is up for grabs for much less than buying a brand new motor – and it looks pretty impressive, too.

Think of an exterior shell so shiny that you can see yourself in it, and bright red seats that are in mint condition.

Plus, there’s also part of the sale that could benefit other classic car lovers, as well.

This 1948 Rover is a key piece of car history

When it comes to buying cars, there are many routes – or should we say roads – that you can go down.

From buying brand new editions straight from the shop floor to leasing, the automotive world is your oyster.

But, for vintage car fans, old, classic editions of cars can be difficult to find.

On Facebook Marketplace, however, the rare chance to own a piece of car history has surfaced, and the stunning classic could be yours for less than $10,000.

Across the pond in the UK in Leyland, one gearhead has displayed a 1948 Rover P3, and the vintage machine is a thing of beauty.

It is said to be in mint condition for a 77-year-old car, and the listing explains that it has a very good body and engine with just ‘a few bits [that need] doing as all classic cars do’ but is still usable.

The seller says that they may consider a part exchange of a ‘1960 four-seater car’ too, so other vintage car fans could be in luck here.

But, the best part? It could be yours for just $9,354. (£7,000).

The car has driven 100,000 km and has a 1-litre engine under the hood.

The red interior is also in impeccable condition considering its age, and the exterior shine speaks for itself.

The Rover P3 was supposedly produced from 1948-1949, so the vehicle really is a piece of the past, and any gearhead would surely appreciate.

Facebook Marketplace helps car fans out in a variety of ways

Owning and keeping a car kitted out can be an expensive hobby, so when car fans are looking for ways to customise or even improve their machines, a cheaper alternative to official garages is a bonus.

Facebook Marketplace is often favored and utilised to the max, and it’s not hard to see why.

Cars can even be bought on the site, such as this cheap Toyota Corolla, which made a huge $3,500 profit after one man took on the challenge of flipping it.

But this vintage find could mean that one gearhead has hit the jackpot with the 1948 Rover P3.

You can check out the listing here.
