This low-mileage 1955 Chevrolet truck has had a bunch of cool modifications over the years and recently sold in Arizona for around the same price as a Honda Accord.
The vintage pickup truck had undergone several upgrades and modifications over more than a decade.
Those upgrades resulted in this striking matte black pickup with gleaming chrome and a new oak floor.
The stunning pickup sold last month for just $22,000 – around the same as you might expect to pay for a Honda Accord.

The matte black Chevrolet truck looks great
Classic Chevy trucks can be extremely hardy vehicles and can make a great restoration project in the right hands.
Just take a look at this 1959 example that spent 30 years parked but was back on the road shortly after being rescued, or this 1935 Chevy that had managed to hold onto its original engine.
This 1955 Chevrolet truck, which was recently sold at an auction held by Mecum, isn’t stock – it’s had numerous modifications to both its exterior and mechanics.

For starters, the distinctive matte-black paintwork is beautifully contrasted by the chrome across the grille, trim, and wheels.
The bed at the back of the pickup has been fitted with a new oak floor, which really complements all that black bodywork.
It’s unclear who took on the project or why, but we do know that it was around 13 years in the making and that since it was completed the truck has only added around 2,193 miles (3,529km) to the odometer.
The pickup truck’s engine has also been upgraded
Alongside its new color scheme, the truck now sits on a Mustang II front end and has been fitted with a four-link rear suspension and a custom exhaust system.

Under the hood is a V8 engine paired with a two-speed automatic transmission that’s good for up to 460 horsepower.
Inside, the pickup has been finished in dark grey and bright yellow with a new Grant steering wheel, a new headliner, and new carpets throughout.
It also comes with remote door openers, which is a pretty neat little feature.
Looking at the vehicle and its overall condition, you might be expecting it to go for a hefty chunk of cash, but the winning bidder managed to snap it up for just $22,000 – and we’d bet they’re pretty delighted with their purchase.
