The Chevrolet Nova SS was easily one of the most desirable muscle cars of its time, but you get to see very few of them today, and that too in not-so-great condition.

If you spot one in immaculate condition, it was likely restored back to its former glory, but some, on the other hand, are beyond restoration.

It’s the same case with this 1962 Chevrolet Nova SS found rotting in the middle of a Montana field, and time certainly did its thing here.

The car was apparently parked openly and without a roof — neither its own nor of a garage.

1963 Chevrolet Nova SS abandoned in Montana field

Chevrolet debuted the SS — or Super Sport package — in 1962 for the Nova and it already had greater performance in the following year.

That was when the brand closely monitored what its customers wanted and made changes in no time.

All thanks to this upgrade, the 1963 Chevy Nova sold well — over 44,000 units, to be precise.

However, there aren’t many around today apart from some stored in classic car collections.

Some might pop up in a barn find here and there, but that’s likely the end of it.

The star of today’s show is a Nova SS that has been sitting in a field for probably a few decades.

If an abandoned Nova SS without protection doesn’t already sound like a horror story to you, there’s more.

An exposed interior under the sky

Whoever left it there never put the Chevy’s roof on, so the interior has been exposed, too.

We all know how harsh the oncoming of time is, and interiors usually have it worse.

Although a Chevrolet Nova SS makes for a great project vehicle, we’re not sure if this one will make it.

It’s currently being sold on eBay and has a maximum bid of $3,500 as of the time of writing.

Moreover, the seller never shared any specifics either, but we do know that it’s a 1963 variant.

Even with its SS package and a decent engine, it will take extreme dedication to make this classic shine again.

That is, if someone with that intention gets it.
