If you’ve ever spent time deliberating what color car to get, this Florida man will blow your imagination out of the park – he used the copper bronze of countless pennies to cover his 1965 Chevy Corvette in actual cash.
The Chevy Corvette is quite an icon.
The series has never failed to stand out from the crowd. Just take the yellow zing of the latest ZR1, for example, smashing its way around Germany’s Nürburgring race track.
But in its heyday, the Corvette series was a mix of green, red, blue, and black. At least it was until 1982, when one Florida man covered his copper pennies, creating a beautiful metallic body that is now worth over $30k.

Many people have taken the Corvette blueprint and let their minds run wild with decoration and mod upgrades, as the American cars have proved to be a great canvas.
This 1965 Corvette is one of the greatest artistic strokes that we’ve ever seen, though. Florida man Charlie Regini transformed his Chevy Corvette into penny mayhem.
In a six-month transformation, Regini used a combination of pennies, nickels, dimes, half dollars, silver dollars, and even a Susan B. Anthony dollar – the first coin in the United States to feature a woman’s face.
Who knows, it could even have some more special coins on it that are worth a fortune.
But having served as a fundraiser car for the better part of a decade, it’s now for sale. And the cash king has more than just its surprising look up its sleeve.

The car is undoubtedly heavier than your standard Chevy Corvette, given that it’s wearing a coat of copper. But it also has some modern tech under the hood.
Now in the possession of eBay user vman58*67, they claim that the car has a ‘non original 283 motor, two speed power glide transmission, and power steering.’
It also has a new battery, fuel tank, calipers, rotors, and a new master cylinder, proving that it’s more than just an old gimmick.
There is some work to be done on its carburetor, but it’s currently firing up with a roar to match its beastly Gruffalo-colored look.
The car is now listed on the second-hand marketplace for $37,500.

It wouldn’t be the first car to get a coin conversion. though.
There is also a magical Pagani Zonda hypercar out there that was commissioned to have golden pennies made in the shape of football icon Lionel Messi.
Still, that shouldn’t take the shine off what’s been achieved here.
We’ve all got one of those penny jars stacking up somewhere, although maybe not the size of this 45-year collection. But what better way to use it than on a cool car makeover?
